Update: I’ve Got Internet Access!

Last week had its fair share of trials and tribulations. It started last weekend with my Internet connections sporadically turning itself off. To cut a long story short, it took almost a week to discover the router firmware was at fault, but thanks to my tech wizard of a brother, it is now sorted and I’m back online!

I apologise for the lack of posting at the end of last week but I soon learnt that until my brother gave me the OK, there was a high chance anything I wrote online may not be safe. So I thought it best to play it safe. With that in mind, I have a lot of catching up to do!

What have I been reading?

I finished Legends of the Age of Sigmar, which is an anthology of short stories involving Fyreslayers (think fire dwarfs), Skaven (think rat men) and Sylvaneth (think tree people). I actually enjoyed reading this collection of stories more than the Hamerhall ones, as these were complete short stories rather than excerpts. I also liked that the focus of the book was on the more fantastical races, than than the more mundane humans. I think if you were interested in reading the Warhammer lore, start with Legends of the Age of Sigmar, rather than Hammerhall.

In keeping with my goal to read more graphic novels and comic books this month, I also read two volumes of the Assassin’s Creed comic. These follow Charlotte De La Cruz as she enters the secret world of the Assassins and the Templars, having discovered that her ancestors were Assassins. I preferred the second volume to the first, as the plot seems to be a bit more refined , whilst still maintaining fast pacing. I love how these comic books expand on what the video games started and create an opportunity to discover more of the lore and be introduced to new characters. I’m hoping to pick up the third volume soon and I’ll be looking at the other comic book series as well.

This week, I’m reading a retelling of CinderellaCinder by Marissa Meyer.

What I have I been playing?

Assassin's Creed II2018-1-28-1-26-30

For most of the week, I haven’t been playing an video games due to the previously mentioned Internet issues. However in the last few days, I have made up for lost time. In Assassin’s Creed 2, I have made it to Venice, which means that the end of the main story is in sight! As for 100% completion, I have acquired  four of the six assassin seals, 34 out of 100 feathers, fully upgraded all of Monteriggiori’s buildings and have completed most of the optional activities in Florence, San Gimignano and Forli.  Continuing on from last week, when I shared some snapshots of some guards that should be fired; here are some snapshots of guards guarding treasure in not so secure locations…

Hopefully by the end of next week, I’ll have completed Assassin’s Creed 2’s story and will have moved onto Brotherhood.

Apart from Assassin’s Creed 2, I’ve also managed to play a bit of Total Warhammer 2’s  recently released DLC, Rise of the Tomb Kings. I’ve only played about two hours of the DLC, but so far it seems worth the price. I’m taking great delight in marching my horde of skeletons through any army that stands in my way.

What am I blogging about this week?

  • Tuesday: I was recently nominated for a couple of awards, I’ll be posting my responses.
  • Thursday:  I’ll be reviewing Uncharted: Lost Legacy. This review will also be posted on Upon Completion on Friday.
  • Saturday: February’s Humble Monthly Unboxing post. Just as a side note, Humble Bundle have announced that Owlboy has been added to the revealed games, if you want it and Sid Meier’s Civilizatopn VI, you don’t have long to sign up for the bundle.
  • Sunday: The X-Men: The Animated Series‘ episode post that should have gone up week’s ago. Sorry for the delay!

And that was my week! Fingers crossed that this week will be more productive, but enough of my ramblings; let me know what you’ve been getting up and I’ll talk to you soon!
