Re-Reading My Childhood: The Subtle Knife.

Back in July, as part of my Sword and Laser reading challenge, I read Northern Lights by Philip Pullman. It had been quite a while since I read the entire His Dark Materials trilogy and I decided in July to complete the trilogy. This trilogy was one of the first fantasy series that completed as a child/almost teenager and so today, I thought I would share my thoughts on re-reading the second book in the trilogy, The Subtle Knife and talk about it compared to my memories of it.

Re-Reading My Childhood: Northern Lights.

Recently, I finished reading Northern Light, as part of my challenge to read all of the Sword and Laser book club picks. This isn’t the first time I’ve read the first book in  the His Dark Materials trilogy. I had read the whole trilogy back in the early 2000s, in between reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I remember being blown away by the trilogy, as I hadn’t read anything like it. So, let’s take a look and see if Northern Lights holds up to my childhood memories.

Re-Reading My Childhood: The Recruit.

I’ve recently started to replay the games I played as a child, starting with Sonic the Hedgehog which you can read about my experience here. It is not only video games that I have been revisiting, but also books as well. Like with the video games, I will be looking at the books I read up until I was sixteen. Today, I am talking about my re-read of The Recruit by Robert Muchamore.

Replaying My Childhood: Sonic the Hedgehog.

Recently, I’ve decided to revisit the games I played during my childhood, as I’ve been wanting to indulge in some nostalgic feelings. The games I want to play will range from games that I had played on the Sega Megadrive to a few of the earlier games released on the Xbox 360. I will be honest, there will be times I won’t be able to play some of the games on the original console I played them on but I will try and get the closest experience possible. So, let’s take a trip down memory lane as I replay the first game I ever played, Sonic the Hedgehog.
