With a lot of superhero films being released this year and the summer blockbusters coming out in cinemas, I thought now would be a good time to recommend a book all about people with superpowers, Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson.
Yep, I’ve been dogsitting again but this time it was for a good cause. It turns out I’m not the only one in my family who makes crazy challenges for themselves, my sister does it as well. I have to admit that her challenge was a little more ambitious than mine: she’s taking part in the London Marathon to raise money for The Children’s Society. Our parents went to go support her and I stayed with the dogs… I know who I think got the better part of the deal!
Well, last week didn’t go to plan, did it? My parents decided to go away for their anniversary, which meant a second round of dogsitting for Thero! Not that I mind, it just meant I didn’t get much chance to sit at my computer this week. This week, however, is a completely different story; as I actually have the whole week off work, which means the blogging (and gaming) can get back on track! The other thing I forgot to mention last week was on 5th April, The Reluctant Hero turned 3 years old! Admittedly, it wasn’t until about 18 months ago, that I started to give this blog the love and attention it deserved but I thought I’d let you guys know three years have passed since my first awkward posts.
June has been and gone, so its time for me to fill you guys in on the books I’ve read for the reading challenge!
This time round, I thought I’ll recommend an epic fantasy novel with a twist. The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson is the first book in the original Mistborn trilogy, which in turn are the first three books in the Mistborn series. A bit confuding, I know, but I hope you guys are still with me. If you are, then without further ado, let’s dive into why I recommend The Final Empire.
Wow, Thero is actually on time with her round-up post for once! I know, this must be a sign of the impending apocalypse. So while we wait for the end to come, let’s take a look at what I’ve been reading!
