Today is going to be a very short (and kind of obvious) answer, so let’s take a look!
OK, I’m not going to beat around the bush, I’ve always stuck with whatever is the generic name is suggested for each Pokemon game. Look, I have a hard enough time picking names for my Pokemon, why would I try and delay my Pokemon journey agonsiing over the name of my rival?
I would love to know what your answer is to this question? Are you like me and just accept the suggested name or do you have a specific name for your rival(s)? Let me know in the comments below and join me tomorrow, when I’ll be talking about my favourite Pokemon tune. See you then!
I always named mine after my friends, so it felt like they were in the games too!

Quite a few poeple do that, I guess I don’t want to play favourites with my friends!

As a kid, I went the default name route. I can see me giving them rude names nowadays. I swear I’ve devolved from the pandemic 😂

I’ve always been tempted to give them rude names but I’ve committed to it! I don’t know why, since no one else is ever going to know what I call them…

I named them after family members. Gave it a bit more lighthearted fun to have such conflicts with them.

I guess you also get some saticfaction once you beat them as well!

I normally stuck with the default, but let’s go Pikachu didn’t give a default so I named him after my brother. We both got the gen 1 games at the same time and so it seemed appropriate for my return to the region. (I actually tried to name him blue first but then there was another blue so I restarted as it annoyed me)

That’s really cool and a great throwback to your earlier Pokemon playthroughs. Question is, did you enjoy beating your brother to become the Champion?

I haven’t got to that part yet, I’m quite late to getting let’s go Pikachu and only got it in March!
