30 Day Pokemon Challenge: Day 21. Favourite Pokemon Antagonists.

Apologies for the delay in these Pokemon posts. One of my computer’s fans decided to die on me, so I didn’t want to use my computer until I replaced it. Anyway, I am back now, so let’s continue with these last few Pokemon posts!

Today, I am talking about my favourite antagonists from the Pokemon franchise. Let’s be honest, there really is only one amtagonist team that could be my favourite, the iconic Team Rocket.

Now, ompared to late teams of antagonists, Team Rocket’s goals aren’t exactly ambitious. They just want to steal Pokemon and use them to commit crimes. However as they were the first group of villains that I opposed, within the Pokemon video games, I have some serious nostalgia for them. Speaking of the video games, you have to give it to Team Rocket. Despite being defeated in Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow and their leader leaving the organisation, Team Rocket returns in Pokemon Gold and Silver to recover from their defeat and prove to the Pokemon world that they are a serious criminal organisation. So, I have to give them bonus points for persitance.

And let’s not forget the anime. Jessie, James and Meowth have been trying to steal Pikachu for the past two decades. They have literally travelled around the world to do so. And occasionally they have also revealed their good side as well. Let’s face it, anyone who introduces themselves they way these guys do, deserves a little respect.

Prepare for trouble!
And make it double!
To protect the world from devastation!
To unite all peoples within our nation!
To denounce the evils of truth and love!
To extend our reach to the stars above!
Jessie!
James!
Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!
Surrender now, or prepare to fight!

Jessie and James, from pretty much every single Pokemon episode.

So, for sheer persistence and nostalgia, my favourite Pokemon antagonists are Team Rocket. Who is your favourite antagonists? Let me know in the comments and join me tomorrow when I’ll be talking about my favourite rival. See you then!
