30 Day Pokemon Challenge: Day 19. Favourite Elite Four Member/Champion.

On Saturday, I spoke about my favourite Gym Leader. Well, today, I am going to atlk about my favourite member of the Elite Foure/Champion. So, let’s take a look at which powerful Pokemon trainer is my favourite!

This actually wasn’t a hard choice to make. For me, there is only one Champion that stands out and that is the first ever Champion you face in the video games, Lance.

So, why is Lance my favourite? Well, facing the Elite Four and the Pokemon Champion is the climax of the Pokemon games. This is the culmination of your journey, the battle that proves you truly are ‘the very best that no one ever was‘. This means the fight with the Champion should be a challenge and Lance was definitely a challenge in the first generation of video games. Lance is a Pokemon trainer whose whole party consists of dragon type Pokemon. Back in the first generation of Pokemon, dragon types were incredibly tough who were only weak to ice type and other dragon type Pokemon. In Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow, there were only five ice type Pokemon and only three dragon type Pokemon. As you can see, Lance was going to be a tough trainer to beat in the first generation of Pokemon video games.

Its not just his strength that makes Lance my favourite Champion. He also loves his Pokemon and seeks to stop people harming any Pokemon. In Pokemon Gold and Silver, you will team up with Lance to put a stop to Team Rocket’s plans in Mahogany Town. The fact that Lance uses his experience as a Pokemon trainer to protect people and Pokemon, makes him a great role model within the Pokemon series, which is why he is my favourite Champion.

Who is your favourite Elite Four Member/Champion? Let me know in the comments and join me tomorrow, when I’ll be talking about my favourite Pokemon Professor. See you then!
