30 Day Pokemon Challenge: Day 11. Favourite New Pokemon From Sword & Shield.

OK, I changed this topic slightly from the list. Originally, it was ‘Favourite New Pokemon From Black 2 and White 2. However I have yet to play either of those games, so I thought I would choose the most recent Pokemon game that I have played, which is Pokemon Sword. So, let’s take a look at one of my favourite Pokemon from Pokemon Sword!

OK, this is going to seem a little hypocritical, after yesterday’s post where I talked about how I disliked steel type Pokemon but I also said on Thursday, flying types were my second favourite Pokemon type, so it balances out. Anyway, my favourite new Pokemon from Pokemon Sword, is Corviknight.

Yes, I know a flying/steel type is my favourite from the latest generation. I just really love Corviknight’s design. It is the perfect mix of a raven and a suit of armour. If there was going to be a bird POkemon that dominated the skies of Galar, then Corviknight is that Pokemon. Even its Pokedex entries reflect this:

  • ‘This Pokémon reigns supreme in the skies of the Galar region. The black luster of its steel body could drive terror into the heart of any foe.’ Pokemon Sword.
  • ‘With their great intellect and flying skills, these Pokémon very successfully act as the Galar region’s airborne taxi service.’ Pokemon Shield.

A problem that I see with the flying types, is that their final evolutionary form does not look that intimdating or strong. The likes of Noctowl, Xatu and Swellow aren’t going to feel you with much fear, on the battlefield, but Corvikinight actually looks imposing and intimidating. It probably doesn’t surprise any of you that Corviknight was a key member of my party in Pokemon Sword.

So, that was my favourite new Pokemon from Pokemon Sword and Shield. Please let me know your favourite in the comments below and join me tomorrow, when I’ll be talking about my favourite Pokemon attack/move. See you then!
