A Year Of My Life In Games- 2011.

Its been a while since I’ve done one of these posts, so without further ado, let’s take a look at the games from 2011 that were important to me!

OK, let’s get the one evryone expects out of the way, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Anyone who has been reading my blog for a while probably knows that I love Skyrim. The amount of hours I put in this game across Xbox 360, Steam and PS4, runs into the hundreds of hours. And yes, I have bought the multiple times for different platforms. Skyrim was released at a pointi n my life when I needed an epic fantasy RPG; a game that I could lose myself for hours in and was exactly what Skyrim was. Since its release, I have occassionally returned to Skyrim, usually when I needed a distraction from things going on in my personal life. So, while Skyrim may not be a perfect game, it does hold a special place in my heart.

Next up is the conclusion to one of my favourite character’s journey- Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. I’ll be honest, I wan’t that keen on Revelations when I first played it but after re-playing a couple of years ago, I now believe it is a solid conclusion to Ezio’s story, whilst also giving Altair an ending as well. It just goes to show, that it is worth while to revisit video games, as you may find that your opinion on them has changed.

And those were the games release in 2011 that were important to me. What games released in 2011 did you love playing? Let me know in the comments belowe and I’ll talk to you soon!

  1. 2011… All about City of Heroes. Still enjoyed playing, but the updates that year were less than stellar. They introduced a ton of end game content, but only had a perfunctory player beta…. So it went Live with a number of bugs and broken bits. It took them a while to fix them all.

That was a general trend across the years I played… Closed and Open betas grew shorter, and eventually became almost pointless because they weren’t actually long enough to find and fix things. And the attitude of the Dev’s was increasingly that the betas were pro forma at best.

And later in the year, they revamped the tutorial system and presented a pointless piece of junk. (Every single one of the major pirate servers have re-enabled the old tutorial…)

Man, sucks that I’ve missed so many of these (year of gaming) and this was a bad year in CoX. I Love The Hell Out Of Cox, and still do.
