Gaming In June.

If any month could be considered as productive, when it comes to the amount of games played and completed, then June is a serious contender.. Let’s take a look at the games I played in June!

Lets start off with the news I’m most excited about- I earnt my first Platinum trophy! That’s right, the person who is usually terrible at finishing games, not only finsihed Days Gone but earnt all the trophies. I knew this year I wanted to give my PS4 some more love because I really neglected it over the past couple of years and when I started to play Days Gone, I knew this was definitely a game I wanted to play to the end. This game is an under appreciated gem that I think all PS4 owners should try. I will be writing a full review of the game soon, so keeps your eyes peeled for some more Days Gone focussed content on the blog!

The next two games I completed were Guitar Hero: On Tour and Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades for the Nintendo DS. I have a soft spot for the Guitar Hero series, as it allows me to indulger the rock fan in me. I have to say that both these games are pretty shorft but do have a decent song list each. I will say that the guitar grip did cause some discomfort so it was probably a good thing that these two games were pretty short. I do also have Guita Hero On Tour: Modern Hits and Band Hero for the Nintendo DS, so you may see those featured in an update post soon!

The final game I finished in June was Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX for the Nintendo Switch. This was a fantatsic remake of the original Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and I really enjoyed my time playing it. I especially liked the updated art style, which really suits the game. I hope that we will see an new entry for the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series be relased on the Switch in the future.

As my adventures in Final Fantasy XIV, my boyfriend and I are still working on the content bewteen the base game and the Heavensward expansion. We have just faced the dragon, Midgardsormr, in the dungeon The Keeper of the Lake. That dungeon is not a fun experience for a healer, I swear I spent more time dancing between the AOE attacks than actually healing people! Still, we are now a bit closer to reaching the Heavensward content.

OK, now we’re moving onto what I’m currently playing. First, I playing through The Isle of Armor DLC for Pokemon Sword. I haven’t yet finished the DLC, but so far, it hasn’t really impressed me. While its great that I can ctach more Pokemon, making the island a Wild Area, whilst Maz Raids seems to still struggle to group me with actual players, seems a bit of a waste. The sotry side of the DLC appears to be quite short. Still, I will wait until I’ve fully played the DLC before giving my final opinion, but at the moment, I’m hoping The Crown TundraDLC will justify the money I paid for the season pass.

The other game I’m playing is the original Final Fantasy VII on my PS4. This is my boyfriend’s favourite game and I promised that I would finally play it, once I had finished Days Gone. I’ve only played about two hours but so far so good. I’m liking the party dynamics that are forming and so far I’m liking Tifa the most. Final Fantasy VII has quite a reputation and it will be interesting to see whether it can surpass Final Fantasy X as my favourite Final Fantasy game!

And that was the games I played in June! Let me know what you’ve been playing the comments below and keep an eye out for some reviews of the games I’ve completed. See you soon!

    1. Thank you! I’ll be honestt, I didn’t buy Days Gone until I saw someplace was selling it for about £15 new, as I also thought it was just another zombie game. Once I started playing, I found that I really connected with the characters and I loved riding around Oregon. The game did have some performance issues on my PS4, it got a little slow when the bigger hordes were on the screen.
I think if you like open world games set in a post apocalyptic world, then Days Gone will appeal to you. It certainly deserved more credit than it got from the critics.
