Update: Look Who’s Back!

Yes, it’s me, Thero! I’ve returned from an unplanned absence and ready to jump back into the blogging game. Why did I disappear? Well, to be honest, I was feeling a little burnt out after Christmas and was struggling through January; so I took some time away from this blog. Now, I feel really motivated and ready to post random rambly geeky things!

What have I been reading?

I haven’t been reading a lot, so my Goodreads Challenge has been suffering. I have managed to complete an entire trilogy since I’ve been gone. Overall, I loved the The Shadow & Bone trilogy by Leigh Bardugo, which focuses on a conflict between the light and the dark- a perfect trilogy for Kingdom Hearts fans! It has an interesting magic system and the world that has been created is so detailed, that I can’t wait to pick up the other novel set in the Grishaverse.

For now, I’m looking to re-read the A Song of Ice and Fire series, as I haven’t read them in quite awhile and I’m wanting to read some dark fantasy.

What have I been playing?

Since my last post, I’ve completed Maize for Khinjarsi and I’s Backlog Challenge.  My post about my thoughts on it is up on the Upon Completion blog. I’ve also managed to earn enough event tickets in Elder Scrolls Online to gain the Indrik mount, which is a rather… unique mount. Let’s just say, I ‘m annoying my friend using it as my mount in PvP.

I’ve also jumped back into Final Fantasy XIV, I’m working towards the end of the base game- yes, I know I’m a little behind! Fortunately, I have a high level friend, who is helping me through the content. The plan is to, hopefully, be in a position to start the new expansion when it launches in July.

I’m also still working my way through Assassin’s Creed Rogue. At the moment, I’m getting distracted by all the side activities and collectables, so my progress is going quite slowly. Another game, that I’m making slow progress through, is Octopath Traveller, a fantasy JRPG on Nintendo Switch. I’m enjoying it but its definitely a classic JRPG experience- plenty of grinding and walking into random battles!

And the final game, that I started just before writing this post, is actually a mod for SkyrimEnderal: Forgotten Stories. Its available free on Steam and it takes the Skyrim engine and creates a whole new world and RPG. If you want to check it out, here’s a quick link to it. So far, it seems to be a promising game.

What’s going on with the blog?

I’m not going to jump straight back into my blogging schedule but just take my time getting back into the swing of things. There will definitely be a Humble Monthly post and possibly a MMO Seasonal event post this week. I did post on Upon Completion on Sunday, my thoughts on Maize.

And that was my last few weeks! Let me know what I’ve been missing in the comments below and I’ll talk to you soon!

Welcome back!! Sometimes you just need a blogging break and that’s okay 🙂 Assassin’s Creed Rogue was awesome! I remember my city was actually in it, haha
