Update: Well, That Didn’t Go To Plan!

Sorry about not posting over the last two weeks, things were a little crazy at work, which meant my free time was spent recovering from it. But I promise to make up for it this week!

What have I been reading?

I managed to finish Stardust by Neil Gaiman, which shouldn’t be too surprising as it is less than two hundred pages long! I have actually read Stardust before and I recall that I did enjoy it, but this time I found it was just an OK read. I also read Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag by Oliver Bowden, which is just the novel version of the game. There is very little that this novel adds to the story of Edward Kenway, apart from explaining how he became a pirate. Still, its a bit of swashbuckling fun!

I’m almost finished Everless by Sara Holland, a young adult fantasy novel set in a world where everything is paid for with your lifespan. Its an interesting concept and the world is definitely one I want to learn more about; however there do appear to be a few things about the novel that prevent me from completely falling love with it. Still, I have about one hundred pages to go, so I’ll wait to finish the book, before going into some of its issues.

What have I been playing?

I’ve been making some progress with The Sexy Brutale, which I expect to finish at some point over the next week. I’ve also been dabbling in a bit of Elder Scrolls Online, making my way through Malabar Tor, in the Aldmeri Dominion quest line. I’ve also returned to Final Fantasy XIV, thanks to a friend who is helping me through the main content. I think there is a bit of an ulterior motive, as they want a White Mage to help them with end game content, so I’m not taking advantage too much of their max level Dark Knight…

I’ve also been playing some Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, which like Liberation is one of the forgotten Assassin’s Creed games, thanks to its much bigger siblings. Still, I lobed Rogue when I first played it on Xbox 360 and I’m loving replaying it now. The final two games I’ve been playing, were on my Nintendo Switch. I finally completed Fire Emblem Warriors, which as a Fire Emblem fan, was a great game. I’m now going for more turn based strategy with Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battles, which has just been awesome, silly fun.

What’s going on with the blog?

Unfortunately, I haven’t written any posts since the last update post, two weeks ago. I hope to change that this week and give you guys at least some posts read this week!

And that has been my two weeks! Once again, I’m sorry for not posting, things have been a little crazy post Christmas, but I hope for that to change this week. So what have you guys been up to? Fill me in on all that I’ve missed in the comments below and I’ll talk to you soon!

  1. I picked up Blueprint Tycoon on Steam’s Winter sale… and I’m glad I only paid a couple of bucks for it. I basically beat it within twenty hours of playing. A solidly entertaining twenty hours, but there’s nothing beyond that. There’s a number of user scenarios available, but every one I tried was fundamentally broken in one way or another.
