In just over two weeks, Christmas Day will be here! Seriously, where has the time gone?! And weirdly enough, I can’t recall what I have actually been doing in December, apart from working and trying to fit all the Christmas things in. I swear, as a child December used to take it time but now it seems like 2019 is just around the corner!
Enough of my bewilderment, what have I been getting up to? I finally managed to get something for my Secret Santa recipient for work.I feel like Secret Santa is Christmas Russian Roulette- its alright if you get someone you know but if not, its a nightmare to find something. At home, we now have the Christmas decorations up, so the downstairs of the house looks like a Christmas grotto- I seriously don’t want to see what the electricity bill in January looks like! Finally, my parents, brother and I went out and had an early Christmas dinner. Look if I can only have roast turkey dinner in one month of the year, then I am going to make sure I make the most of the opportunity!
What have I been reading?
I finished Ka: The Lives of Dar Oakley by John Crowley last week and I can’t honestly say that I enjoyed it. It did remind me of Watership Down but it lacked Watership Down’s ability to draw the reader into the plight of the rabbits. I think its because I rarely felt like Dar Oakley was in any actual peril, making me less invested in his story. Its a shame because a lot of people on Goodreads seemed to really enjoy the book and I did to, but for some reason I never really connected to it.
I currently reading Zeroes by Chuck Wendig, which is turning out to be a good read about hackers uncovering a conspiracy whilst avoiding prison.
What have I been playing?
I haven’t been playing many video games this past week. In fact, I’ve only really been playing Pokémon Let’s go Eevee! which is still an amazing trip down memory lane for me. I’m currently in Saffron City, having just earnt my fifth badge and I’m now looking to take on Team Rocket once again. Pokémon Let’s go Eevee! has definitely helped me to fall in love with the Nintendo Switch and I can’t wait to discover more games for this fantastic handheld.
What’s going on with the blog?
I have stumbled a little bit with Daily December, as I didn’t manage to post on Friday. Still, there were plenty of other posts that came out last week, which were as follows:
- Thero’s Gift Ideas: Buying For A Pokemon Fan.
- Judging Books By Their Cover, November Edition.
- A Year of My Life in Games- 1994.
- December Humble Monthly… Unboxing?!
- Thero’s Recommended Gaming: Overcooked!
This week, I have another six posts planned, so check back for those.
And that was my week! Tell me all about your December shenanigans in the comments below and I’ll talk to you soon!
