Elder Scrolls Online has been spoiling us lately, with four events planned for the end of 2018. So far, we have had the spooky Witches’ Festival and the Clockwork City Celebration event; now we are on the third event- the Undaunted Celebration Event. Read on to see what it is all about!
How do you take part in the event?
In order to be able to take part in the Undaunted Event, all you need is to have access to the dungeon finder. You gain access to the dungeon finder when you can start doing dungeons, which is around level 10. Aside from that, there are no other requirements, you don’t even need to go to a specific location, as the dungeon finder will transport you to the dungeon.
What is the event?
The event is all about completing dungeons and killing the final dungeon boss to earn mystery boxes and the event tickets to acquire the Indrik mount. Once you have been teleported to the dungeon, through the dungeon finder, all your party has to do is complete the dungeon. Sound simple, right? There is one slight catch, a lot of players have been having trouble with the dungeon finder. A lot of players. It is taking some people over an hour to get successfully grouped with the dungeon finder, making this event harder and more tedious. ESO did say they were looking into this but some players are still reporting issues, which does take away from some of the fun of the events.
What are the rewards?
The most important reward, in my opinion, are the three event tickets you earn from completing your first dungeon of the day, using the finder. You also get a mystery box, which can contain a random item which could be crafting motif pages, mounts, pets and apparently even houses. So far, I’m only getting the crafting motifs but I’ve got my eye on the, most likely rare, Grand Topal Hideawy home. If you also purchase the third Indrik feather, you will get a bonus entry in the #OurElderScrolls Sweepstakes.
On the surface, this looks like it would be a fun and simple event that won’t take up much of your time, however with the issues with the dungeon finder, it is far from simple. Sure, the rewards are definitely good and worth a dungeon run to earn but when you are having to wait so long to get into a dungeon, it sort of lessens their value. In fact, if it wan’t for the event tickets for the Indrik mount, I would be giving the event a pass. Hopefully the final event of the year, the New Life Festival will be much better.
If you are interesting in taking part in the event you have until 10am EST on Wednesday 5th December, just remember to set a few hours aside.
