Despite having the past week off, I can’t honestly say it was a productive week. Sure, I got to play a few video games but not as much as liked and I certainly didn’t get to blog as much as I had planned to. Fingers crossed, my parents are now all holidayed out and my days as a dogsitter are over for this year. Although, I probably won’t hold my breath…
What have I been reading?
Not much. I have recently started to read the fifth light novel of Sword Art Online, which is turning into my comfort reading series. Like all the other previous SAO novels, Phantom Bullet is turning out to be a very easy read. I’m also finding that I prefer the light novels over the anime, as the novels develop the characters better and provide much more detail about the various gaming worlds. Aside from Phantom Bullet, I haven’t read anything else, I did warn you guys this had been an unproductive week for me!
What have I been playing?
I’ve played quite a few games this week, but also pretty sporadically. I managed to log into Elder Scrolls Online, both on my High Elf characters and with my friend, who is definitely getting the MMO bug. ESO wasn’t the only MMO I played this week, as I attempted to play Secret World Legends, a remaster of the 2012 MMO, Secret World. I’ve chosen to play the assassin, as that look like it had a good mix of melee and magic combat. Unfortunately, the game seems to suffer from serious lag and has a tendency to freeze, so I’m not sure if I’ll persevere with it.
I’ve also been taking part in Steam’s Spring Cleaning Event, which is to help gamers beat their backlog of games. I can’t help but feel this was directed at me. My paarnoid thoughts aside, this event meant I have also dabbled in The Banner Saga, GhostControl Inc. and Lara Croft GO. I have also started to play Ni No Kuni II and although I have only played a couple of hours of it, I have to say, I’m falling in love with this game. Its got the all the things I love about the JRPG genre, plus its visually beautiful.
What’s going on with the blog?
Fingers crossed, things should be back to normal this week. I’m going to try and put up the Fighting Fantasy post on Tuesday. On Saturday, I will also post the June Humble Monthly post. This week I’l also be starting a new 30 day blogging challenge, this time themed around video games. It will be different from the one last year, as this one I found on Tabitha’s The Gaming Teacher‘s blog. I aim to start this challenge on 1st June, so it will nicely by the end of the month.
And that was my week! Apologies for the lack of posts last week but hopefully things should get back on track. Have any of you guys been taking part in the Steam Spring Clean event? Let me know in the comments what you guys have been getting up to and I’ll talk to you soon!
Thanks for the update! I’m thinking of doing a 30 day challenge starting June 1st as well. I’ve been coming up with questions, now to organize them haha. I haven’t played Final Fantasy or anything really in the past weeks, but I look to get back into gaming and blogging this week. Have a great day!

Is your challenge going to have a particular theme? How come you haven’t been able to do much gaming?

Either sounds like they could have some interesting topics to talk about. Hopefully you’ll be able to play some video games soon!
