Yep, I’ve been dogsitting again but this time it was for a good cause. It turns out I’m not the only one in my family who makes crazy challenges for themselves, my sister does it as well. I have to admit that her challenge was a little more ambitious than mine: she’s taking part in the London Marathon to raise money for The Children’s Society. Our parents went to go support her and I stayed with the dogs… I know who I think got the better part of the deal!
If you are able to take some time and visit my sister’s Just Giving page, I would greatly appreciate it. In case any of you were interested, she completed the marathon in 7 hours, 14 minutes and 35 seconds- not bad for someone addicted to Nandos! Now that my sister has put me to shame with her fitness, let’s get down to my far less strenuous activities!
What have I been reading?
I finished Elantris which certainly had a few twists in last 100 pages! Although it is one of Brandon Sanderson’s earlier novels, the first novel he had published in fact, there are quite a few elements to Elantris that shows it is a Sanderson novel. I probably wouldn’t recommend it as the first book for someone who has never read anything written by Brandon Sanderson, I’d recommend The Final Empire, but it definitely one to read for any Sanderson fan.
I decided to continue the Thrawn trilogy and I’m now reading Dark Force Rising by Timothy Zahn. I’m not yet halfway through the book but it is already more engaging than the first book, so I’m glad I decided to stick with the trilogy.
What have I been playing?
Last week, I only really dabbled with Elder Scrolls Online. My friend wasn’t able to log in for our Wednesday evening game time, so I was only completing crafting writs by myself. At least my Clothier skill line is improving… I suspect I will be playing a little more of ESO this coming week as from Tuesday 24th April to Monday 30th, ESO is running a Crown Crate giveaway, in which you earn one for every day you log in during the giveaway. Who can say no to free stuff?
The only other game I’ve played this week is unsurprisingly, Assassin’s Creed III. I have now completed Memory Sequence 6, which means this is now the furthers I have ever played in AC3! I have also completed two of Peg Leg’s missions, which if I’m being honest have been the most enjoyable part of the game so far. Yes, in case you can’t tell, Assassin’s Creed III has been as difficult to continue playing as I predicted. Still, I am determined to remain on track with my challenge, so I’m hoping to make some good progress this week.
What am I blogging about this week?
So I have a confession to make: for the time being, there won’t be any X-Men posts, as I may have misplaced the DVDs. Once the AWOL DVDs have been located, I will resume the posts.
- Tuesday: A Recommended Reading post, this time I’ll be recommending a sci-fi classic.
- Thursday: Finally, my First Impressions post of Surviving Mars.
Depending on how the week goes, I may have something for Saturday, possibly a return of challenge that hasn’t been seen on this blog for a little while, but no promises!
And that was my week! Have you guys been having an active week, like my sister, or has it been more like mine, a little more chilled out? Let me know in the comments and I’ll talk to you soon!
