Update: Eagles & Bats.

With the Harry Potter challenge (finally) finished, we are back to normal on this blog! Last week I had a week off work, mainly to indulge in gaming and catching up on Agent’s of Shield. On Saturday, I went to London and watched Bat Out of Hell the musical, which was simply amazing and something that deserves its own post entirely, so expect to see a post all about it soon!

What have I been reading?

I have a confession to make: I read about 10 pages of Crossfire  by Matthew Farrer and that was all I read last week. I don’t know why but I just didn’t read all that much. Still, they were a good ten pages to read…

What have I been playing?

Quite a few video games. First up, I finished Assassin’s Creed: Revelations!

What revelations await?

This was a great game to finish the Ezio trilogy on and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed playing it. I’ll probably be posting a review of the game in the next couple of weeks. This meant I’ve jumped straight into Assassin’s Creed III, in order to take advantage of the momentum I’ve gained. I’ll admit that AC3 is the game I’ve most been dreading, as I’ve never actually finished it, mainly because I just found it really boring in the past. I’m hoping that my opinion, like with Revelations, will have changed but I’m not optimistic. Still, I’ve completed five out of the twelve Memory Sequences, so I’m not doing too badly. Plus, my brother has decided to be merciful and said I don’t have to complete it 100%, as even he struggled to finish this game.

Speaking of my brother, we managed to play some more co-op in Far Cry 5. I can’t say we made much progress in the game, as someone managed to set us on fire by using a flamethrower whilst riding a quad bike. I’m not naming names but you would have thought he would have learnt from last time…

My brother is not the most conventional passenger…

I’ve also dabbled a little more in The Elder Scrolls Online in attempt to get my new High Elf Warden ready in time for the Summerset expansion… I may have gotten distracted gathering resources.

What am I blogging about this week?

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Tuesday’s post has had to be moved to Wednesday, sorry!

  • Wednesday: My thoughts on Bat Out of Hell the Musical. Don’t worry, there won’t be any spoilers!
  • Thursday: My response to Later Level’s Question of the Month for April.
  • Saturday: The X-Men: The Animated Series post.

And that was my week! How productive was your week? Let me know in the comments and I’ll talk to you guys soon!

  1. I need to go back to older Assassin’s Creed games, especially Revelations as I don’t think I gave it a fair go as went through Ezio’s story too quick and got a bit bored of it. I need to finish the AC games that I stopped after being spoilt for me (Unity, possibly 3 as I don’t remember doing the ending myself if that makes sense). You doing this AC challenge this year is making me want to try to go back to some of them but I have so many other games to play… the decisions to make.

    1. I’m glad my challenge is reigniting your interest in the series! Its funny you should mention not giving Revelations a fair go because what I can recall from my first playthrough I did the same sort of thing. For some reason, I just wanted to blitz through the game and I didn’t really take the time to enjoy the story and world that had been created. I also completely understand about the lack of time to play video games! At the moment, I’m neglecting a lot of games I want to play for the Assassin’s Creed games but so far it has been time well spent!

      1. I still haven’t really played Origins (only played a couple of hours so far) since I was playing too many open world games at the same time and it’s massive. I really enjoy the Assassin’s Creed series but I think hearing you talk about the ones that I think I rushed through has made me want to go back to them to give them a fair chance. Also I remembered I still haven’t played Rogue as it came out at the same time as Unity then that got spoilt for me… so that worked out well. I’ll add them all back on my list to play haha. I’ll get through everything at some point. I’m glad you are finding it is time well spent.
