Today s the penultimate post! In this post, I’ll be talking about my favourite portrait in the Harry Potter series.
There can only be one portrait that springs to mind and that is the guardian of the Gryffindor common room, the Fat Lady.

Part of the reason she is my favourite is because she is the portrait featured the most in the books. That being said she does take her duties as the common room guardian seriously, refusing entry to anyone who doesn’t know the password. She even refused entry to Sirius Black in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, which led to her being slashed by the wanted criminal. She would eventually return as the guardian portrait, suggesting she is also brave, as well as dutiful.
My second favourite portrait would have to be Sir Cadogan, the temporary Gryffindor guardian from the third book. I just find a two dimensional character challenging people to duels rather amusing.
Who is your favourite portrait? Let me know in the comments and join me tomorrow for the last Harry Potter challenge post!
I think I would have gone with the fat lady as well. Not so much from the movies as she doesn’t get a huge amount of screen time, but her presence in the books is felt throughout the whole series even though it is never intrusive. Nice pick.
