MMO Seasonal Event- Final Fantasy XIV: Hatching-Tide 2018.

OK, I’m a little late with this event, but better late than never, right?

How do you take part in the event?

As long as your character is level 15 in any role, head over to Old Gridania to speak with Nonotta, who will give you the quest Uneggseptable Losses.

What is the event?

In this event, you have been asked to locate the thief who has stolen some of the eggs. For the first half of the event, you will be interacting with sparkly objects and reading quite a bit of dialogue. Fortunately, the second half of the event is a little more interesting, as for you to complete the event you must successfully complete an arcade game called Egg-Hunter Riggy. Its not an overly difficult game, in which you collect eggs and avoid enemies, but it is unique. It took me about fifteen minutes to complete the event, most of which was actually cut scenes.

What are the rewards?

For completing the quest, you will receive the Motley Egg minion and the achievement, Eggsit Stage Left. You can also buy a Hatching-tide Banner and Spriggan Chocolate from a nearby vendor. For me, personally, the best reward was the ability to play the Egg Hunter Riggy mini game from the toy chest in the inn room.

Final Words.

Well, this was a short and sweet event! I really enjoyed the arcade-like mini game which is a refreshing change from the FATE orientated ones, however I was a little disappointed that most of the event was talking with NPCs and cutscenes, which felt like it was padding out the event quest a little more than it needed. I have to say that the reward wasn’t as good as past event rewards. The minion, while appropriately themed, doesn’t really stand out and I feel this won’t be a minion that will be seen following players as much as other minions. Still, the mini game was fun and unique , so I didn’t feel like it was a waste of time.

If you want to take part in this event, you don’t have long- the event ends on Monday 2nd April, 3pm GMT!
