Update: The Return of the 30 Day Blogging Challenge!

Yes, you read that correctly, I am about to step back into the blogging challenge madness. I intend to start on 2nd March, so it will last the entirety of the month. I’ve decided to do something a little different this time, well two things differently. The first, this is a challenge based off of books, since I have focused on anime and video games before; secondly, it is about one series in particular, which helped to reignite my love of the fantasy genre, the Harry Potter series. I’ll be talking more about the challenge later in this post, so for now let’s talk about the other things I’ve been doing.

What have I been reading?

OK, confession time: I was an idiot and left Scarlet in my locker at work, which meant this week when I was off work, I haven’t been able to read it. What, I wasn’t going back to work to pick it up. So, I haven’t actually finished any books at all this week. This doesn’t affect my Goodreads reading challenge that much, as I am still four books ahead of schedule, I’ve currently read 13 out of 65 books.I have read a little of Horus Rising by Dan Abnett, a book set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, that I’ve been slowly reading for the past year or so. It has been slow going but the second half of the book has really picked up plot and pacing. This week I should be back on track!

What have I been playing?

A lot of video games, which makes up for my lack of reading! Firstly, I have made progress in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. I am now part way through Memory Sequence 5, with an overall 40% completion for the whole game. I’ll be honest the plot in this game has really grabbed my attention and it doesn’t help that another game has been distracting me these past two weeks…

That other game is Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which I am still in love with. To dtae, I have spent about 20 hours in the game and I feel I have made little progress when it comes to the main story. I am slowly getting better at the combat, still useless at archery though. So far my favourite part has been a quest that ended up with me out all night drinking with the local priest, who I then had to cover for in the Church service and deliver a sermon in my underclothes. The sermon went well.

Last week, I also played a little more Final Fantasy XIV, in which I am getting closer to facing the second primal. Yes, I know, its taking me a long time to get through the story, I keep getting distracted by the seasonal events!

Finally, I had an urge to play a CRPG, so I started a new game in Pillars of Eternity. I’m only a couple of hours in, but I have met up with my first party member, a wizard who has a knack for insulting the locals. This is going to end well.

What am I blogging about this week?

As mentioned at the start of this post, I am doing a 30 day Harry Potter blogging challenge. on 1st March, I’ll be posting the topics for the thirty days and if you want to take part, let me know in the comments, so I’ll be able to see your Harry Potter posts. While mine will only be about the book series, feel free to make yours about the films.

If you’re not interested in Harry Potter, don’t worry, I’ll still be posted my usual types of posts on the usual days!
