I’m starting this post off with an apology and a little warning. This past week, we’ve been having internet connectivity issues in my house. This means that I wasn’t able to prepare and post my X-Men post, so for the time being, I’m suspending the Saturday Animated Reviews, as they rely the most on reliable internet.
Aside from that annoying development, I have managed to watch some things online including the new Critical Role campaign on Youtube. The first episode was uploaded on Monday and I’m quite excited to being able to follow the campaign, this time around, rather than playing catch up. For anyone who hasn’t heard of Critical Role, its a group of anime and video game voice actors who play Dungeons & Dragons. Even if you don’t play any RPG, this is still very entertaining. If you want to watch the first episode, click here.
Keeping with the RPG theme this week, my Pathfinder group finally got back together after a lengthy hiatus. Pathfinder is fairly similar to Dungeons & Dragons, as it is a fantasy RPG but it has more in common with the 3.5 edition of D&D compared to the more recent ones. I play a cleric, which probably doesn’t come much as a surprise, as I enjoy playing support roles. Yes, I’m weird like that. Fingers crossed, my group will be able to meet up regularly again, so you guys will probably be hearing bits and pieces about the campaign over the coming months.
What have I been reading?
The first book I read this week was a collection of stories set in the Warhammer: Age of Sigmar universe. It has been a while since I read any Warhammer lore and the whole setting has change drastically. The book was really a group of excerpts from other novels and one novella, so it has made me want to pick up all the other Age of Sigmar books in order to continue reading. So this week, I’ll be reading Legends of the Age of Sigmar: Omnibus 1,.
The other book I read, which was lent to me by Khinjarsi, was a graphic novel called Pride of Baghdad. This was written by Brian K. Vaughan, who’s other works include Y: The Last Man and Runaways, two series that I enjoyed. I enjoyed Pride of Baghdad but I wouldn’t recommend it to a younger audience- be warned, its no Lion King.
What have I been playing?
Despite, internet issues, I’ve managed to play some Assassin’s Creed 2. I’m a little nervous about playing the game for any length of time, as any disruption form the internet, could cause my game not to save to the Uplay cloud. Still, I’ve been making steady progress and I’ve worked out how to take screenshots through Uplay! Yes, I know, it is exactly them same as Steam, but you guys shouldn’t have high expectations from me…
These guards should get fired…
What am I blogging about this week?
I’m giving you guys some advance warning, this schedule may not happen, it depends on whether or not the internet behaves itself!
- Tuesday: I’ll be answering the Question of the Month from Later Levels.
- Thursday: My First Impressions post on The Ancients Magus Bride.
And that was my week! Let me know what you guys have been getting up to and I’ll talk to you soon!
