Creative Christmas: A Gaming Collaboration, 1st January

Kim at Later Levels has created this amazing gaming collaboration to get everyone in the festive spirit. Today’s post is my answer for this question:

You wake up the following morning, hungover but happy – you have an entire day of gaming ahead of you. You start thinking back over the video games you played during 2017; what was your game of the year?

This year, I’ve managed to play quite a few games and a lot of them were amazing, which makes this decision hard. And since I don’t do well at decision making, this adds even more difficulty to the decision. After much consideration- seriously a lot of consideration, my game of the year is…

This probably hasn’t come as much of a surprise to some people, but Horizon Zero Dawn is my game of the year. The setting is completely unique, something I have not experience before. The game also shows off how an open world game can be made. The collectables are numerous but not too many, the side quests don’t just feel like time wasting and the crafting is enjoyable rather than a chore. Graphically, the game is gorgeous and shows off the Playstation 4’s potential.

The most important reason why Horizon Zero Dawn is my game of the year, is that I had fun playing it. To be honest, that’s all I truly ask from any video game.

And that was the final post for the Creative Christmas gaming collaboration! I want to just say thank you to Kim who created this collaboration. This was actually my first ever blogging collaboration and with how much I enjoyed participating, I don’t think it will be my last! Head over to Later Levels and check out the other bloggers who took part and I’ll talk to you guys soon!
